Asia's Largest and India's only Siddha Classical Guitar Festival Kick-starts in Kolkata

Two Grammy Award Winning Artists to Perform for the First Time  

The seventh edition of Calcutta International Classical Guitar Festival and Competition 2016 hosted by Siddha Foundation and The Calcutta Classical Guitar Society took off in Kolkata on 15.12.2016 with a welcome concert by internationally acclaimed artists Daniel Zapico and Pablo Zapico. The festival brings in some of the biggest names from the world of classical guitar over a span of 4 days through 9 concerts.

The people of Kolkata known for their rich cultural tastes get a chance to not only be a part of soul stirring performances by these maestros, but also get trained by them personally through the master classes. Some of the internationally renowned artistes taking part in the festival include Johannes Moller from Sweden, Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhat from India, Lautaro Favalaro from Argentina, Pavel Steidel from Czech Republic, Jose Manual Dapina from Spain, GRAMMY Award winner David Russel from Great Britain and Ehsan Noorani from India.

This is a one-of-its-kind festival hosted in Asia and India. This year the festival will be held at Indian Council for Cultural Relations from 15-18 December. There will be 9 major concerts, workshops, public master classes and competition where the total prize money is $8000. Representation has come in from countries like Vietnam, Germany, France, Indonesia, Thailand and Bangladesh.
