A number of policies have been initiated by the Central Government that will ensure time-bound creation of world class infrastructure in the country and propel its overall development.

CSI 2017 has been well-received by the industry with support from key associations such as its sector partner this year, the Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers' Association (ICEMA), which has been on-boarded for the first time; its conference partner, the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), Construction Chemicals Manufacturers Association (CCMA), Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA), Consulting Engineers Association of India (CEAI), Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), Ready Mixed Concrete Manufacturers' Association (RMCMA), Indian Institution of Bridge Engineers (IIBE), Infrastructure Industry and Logistics Federation of India (ILFI), Indian Association of Structural Engineers (IAStructE), Indian Society of Structural Engineers (ISSE), Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC) and Pre Engineered structures Society of India (PSI) among others.

Speaking on the announcement of the 5th edition of CSI, Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India said"The government's mega push for infrastructure, as seen from the Union Budget FY17-18, is set to provide a huge potential for stakeholders in the sector. Proactive policies and investments made in roadways, railways, airports and several other smart city initiatives, have also truly borne fruit, so much so that in 2016, India jumped 19 places in World Bank's Logistics Performance Index (LPI) 2016, to rank 35th amongst 160 countries. The Indian construction equipment industry, which was also stuck in a rut for a few years in the interim, has revived and is expected to grow to a huge US$ 5 billion by FY2019-20."

"The Concrete Show is positioned to provide industry professionals insights on how to leverage this golden opportunity and also to ensure that the momentum for progress continues at the same speed. With the plethora of exciting products on display, the best of exhibitors, support from key associations and relevant intelligence-sharing, this should be easily achieved," he added.

Along with the main exhibition, CSI 2017 scores high on knowledge-sharing among its industry peers. The show will hold a two-day technical seminar that will focus on 'Practices for Sustainable Smart Cities: 2017 and Beyond Methods, Materials, Machinery and Manpower'. Helmed by industry thought leaders, the topics of discussion will pertain to 'Planning Smart Cities: CIDCO / GIFT'; 'Constructing Smartly and Sustainably'; 'Repair and Rehab for Concrete Infrastructure'; 'Skill Development for Smart Construction'; 'Roads, Infrastructure and Connectivity'; and 'Smart Sustainable Construction Machinery'.
