Vijay Eswaran on the 10th Anniversary of 'In the Sphere of Silence'

-- The practice of 'In the Sphere of Silence' a decade later from co-founder and Executive Chairman of QI Group Vijay Eswaran

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ten years after the launch of In the Sphere of Silence, Vijay Eswaran continues to voice the need to develop learning experiences to facilitate self-actualization. The book stems from Vijay Eswaran's years of experience with ancient hindu concepts, leadership and management. Bridging the concepts of spirituality and business with the yoga tradition of practicing mouna (silence) into a contemporary application, Vijay Eswaran warrants this connection vital in today's digital world.

"With the growth of technology we have become driven by distractions that hinder the quest of self discovery. In the Sphere of Silence was published a decade ago yet it remains relevant in addressing these issues and examining what is within ourselves to discover a world beyond distractions," Vijay Eswaran explains.

The megaproblems of the 21st century range from excessive population growth to global warming.

"A pressing issue that isn't identified is the pursuit of happiness, which is an instinctive drive," Vijay Eswaran explains. "Food, shelter, and money are what the majority of humanity finds necessary to survive. The question is, how do you find tranquility of the mind."

Dutch sociologist Ruut Veenhoven found that satisfied people gained 7.5 to 10 years of life, which largely dealt with self actualization.

"People struggle with the concept of detachment from subjective states the hinder happiness. The process of detachment starts with silence and once humanity can find an objective view they can be humble," Vijay Eswaran stated.

As a child Vijay Eswaran learned the practice of inner silence that helped him achieve his goals of become a successful entrepreneur. Eswaran has published the book to help others prosper and has since then spread his knowledge in several management and business forums such as World Economic Forum and the Sixth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in India. His philanthropy has also been recognized by Forbes Asia in its annual list of Heroes of Philanthropy in 2011 and he has received the lifetime achievement award in Regional Philanthropy.

"The full potential of humans to find meaning is difficult due to the chaos of innovative products and services provided in the current generation," Vijay Eswaran said. "The basic needs of society should be addressed and the answer lies internally. The application of the Sphere of Silence is universal. The purpose is to create a better understanding of oneself to make better efficient decisions that lead to genuine satisfaction."
