WASME to Host 21st ICSME on 'Achieving Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialisation by Promoting SMEs'

The World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME), a leading international non-governmental organisation engaged in the promotion of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), is organising the 21st  edition of the International Conference on Small and Medium Enterprises (ICSME) on November 30 - December 02, 2017 in New Delhi. The event will be graced by Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon'ble Vice President India, as Chief Guest.

Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Hon'ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, India, Mr. Soomilduth Bholah, Hon'ble Minister of Business, Enterprise & Cooperatives, Mauritius, and Mr. Amir Hossain Amu, Hon'ble Minister, Ministry of Industries, Bangladesh will be Guests of Honour at the event. 

This year's edition of ICSME aims to promote SME development initiatives, and integrate them with the United Nation's 2030 agenda of achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by:

  • Offering support to SMEs to increase its access to financial services, trade opportunities, adopt green technology and integrate them into the global value chain
  • Empowering SMEs to contribute effectively to their country's socio-economic development

The event will bring together key stakeholders from diverse organisations to engage in meaningful deliberation on SMEs. The sessions will emphasise upon pertinent topics related to sound financial strategies; integration of SMEs in the global value chain; challenges and opportunities; international standards; and adoption of industrial policies and global competitiveness.

Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu and Mr. Suresh Prabhu will speak at the inaugural session, followed by Mr. Dumisani J Msibi, Vice President, WASME; Mr. B.U. Girei, President, WASME and Mr. G.P. Agarwal, Secretary General, WASME. International speakers at the event will include, among others, Dr. K.C. Jankee, Ambassador of Mauritius, Ms. Soo Hyun Kim and Mr. Hubert Etienne Christian Massoni, UNESCAP.     

The highlight of the conference will be the WASME SME Excellence Awards 2017, which will recognise the best performers from the SME sector in India and abroad for their contribution to the economy.
